Nathan Smith Sawyer, ND, grew up near Minot, North Dakota, where life on the family farm shaped his understanding of responsibility, patience, and steady effort from an early age. His family’s agricultural history spans more than five generations, giving him firsthand experience with grain production, cattle operations, and land management. By observing the careful work required to maintain the farm, he learned the value of trust, planning, and strong relationships with landowners, farmers, and community members. These early lessons became the foundation for his later work in agriculture, business, and community service.

Nathan earned a degree in Agricultural Economics, which strengthened his knowledge of farm operations, market trends, and financial planning. His entrepreneurial interests began in high school, when he started importing trucks from Canada for resale. By age twenty, he was regularly selling refurbished trucks while gaining experience in gravel hauling, farm equipment resale, and residential property purchases. These experiences helped him develop practical judgment, disciplined work habits, and the ability to evaluate opportunities with long-term value, laying the groundwork for future growth in agriculture and business.

Realtor Nathan Smith Sawyer, ND, took leadership of the family farming operation in 1999, managing approximately 460 leased acres. Through steady planning and consistent management, he helped grow the business to more than 30,000 acres of farmland, including cattle and feed operations, while also supporting additional land acquisitions in Montana. Later, he expanded into real estate development, completing residential projects designed for growing communities. In 2024, he became a managing partner at a development company and continues to be actively involved in community service, agricultural advocacy, and youth and winter sports organizations.
